We are working with lighting metal in class, so I thought I would post a couple photos that I took.
New Year Resolution?
I have been recently listening to some of my husbands podcast (he is very big on financial matters and motivational teacher) and I came across something that I felt was very important. It talked about New Year resolution. I myself have been guilty of creating resolutions that I did not accomplish, well actually, mostly did not even remember 10 seconds after uttering. The key to a New Year resolution is not a making it a resolution but a goal. Following a goal is a much more active process. A goal must be specifically stated, clearly thought through with a finish date set, and usually a plan of action. It also must be written down. Some element of the human mind relates writing with essentially setting it in stone. If it’s written, it is much harder to forget and simply erase. This New Year, you should try writing down a clear and specific ‘resolution’ with a definite end date, and see how much closer you come!
Christmas
Well, this year flew past at lightning speed! I can hardly believe that it’s Christmas eve already. I just want to wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy holidays and, of course, a happy new year! Talk to you next year!
Finals
Well, finals are approaching and I am finding myself hard pressed to find anyone to take photos of! It is so funny that bringing out a camera causes everyone to high tail it away from me! I guess the only thing I can do is to tell them I will make them look the best I can….and maybe not mention that it will be up on a huge screen in front of my classmates!
One of my projects
For one of my classes I have to shoot a series of photos. I think I have decided on what that project will be. But it is somewhat difficult to explain! I have great hopes for the project and I feel that this could be really cool! Hopefully it all works out, I will keep you posted!
Funeral photos…taboo?
I attended a beautiful ceremony yesterday for my husband’s friend’s Mother, who recently passed. My husband asked me if I would be willing to photograph the ceremony. I was actually shocked…isn’t that rude? I had a silent debate with myself. Is this appropriate? Is it even appropriate to offer to photograph? After debating in my head and even consulting some of my attending family members, I agreed to let him ask.
He went and asked and came back to tell me that his friend would be delighted to have me photograph this event. Then I had to quick think about what would be tasteful for this. His Mother had been cremated and she had a beautiful urn. I decided to take the approach that I was not photographing the grief of the moment, but the beauty of her ceremony, so that her children will remember how beautiful of a ceremony it really was.
Here are a few of the shots that I have decided to put together for them.

The logo debate
So, I am not a graphic designer but oh how I wish I was! I am in the midst of the logo debate. What should I brand myself with? I know that this step, as far as marketing is concerned, is very important. But I am so blank! Well, I am going back to the drawing board, I may post up my logo as it transform, who knows maybe I’ll get it right the first time!
